The first outing for the new Santa Cruz Blur CC in the UK and the first win! It was amazing to swing my leg over Santa Cruz's new world cup ready XC race bike at Glentress 7.
I've gone for an all-out XC race build, as opposed to the TR setup I rode on the West Highland Way last year. The latest generation of the Blur frame has seen some major advances in frame and suspension technology, resulting in a frame that weighs 289g less than my record-breaking bike. I really believe that with the new Blur, Santa Cruz have developed a major player for XC racing. I can't wait to get between the tapes in some Olympic distance races.
I made the last minute decision to race and I was really happy to win the Solo category and take the overall too. I received my new Blur and CHPT3 kit the day before the race and they were faultless during the 7 hour race.
